I came across this game... not really a lot to do, and you can only do three matches a day (6 the day you sign up)... and you dont have much control of stuff, but it's kind of neat to watch what your guy decides to do.

Anyway, if you are looking for something that you can do to kill about 2 minutes out of every day, sign up here... you become my "pupil", but I havent found out exactly what that does for me yet. LOL.

Well, there must have been a lot of hangovers yesterday... no work on the driveway, and that's just as well.. I'd rather not risk a sub-par job.

They are out at the house working today... should get to see the finished work when I get home!

OK, the folks stopped by on Sunday and cut in the drivway... going to pour it today or tomorrow, the owner said it depended on how many people called off after the holiday... (lots of hangovers)

Anyway, I found this interesting... I was out talking to the owner of the compnay as they worked on cutting it in... we were just BSing, and some how we got to discussing a few of the workers he had at the site... I think it's because I mentiooned that my wife and I are expecting our first baby this winter.

He said "That guy up there in the blue shirt.... he has 7 kids!"... Now, the kid couldn't be any older than 25 or so... I said "dang. He doesn't look old enough to have 7 kids." The owner says... "Ya, that's not the best part.... the 7 kids are with 7 different women!"

Damn. Just Damn.

Driveway...

... well, I got a couple quotes for the driveway... both concrete.

Much more reasonable than I thought, though still a big chunk of change.

I had it scheduled to be put in next weekend, and then remembered that my brother-in-law gets married that weekend, so I had to call back the contractor and push it back a week...

The contractor I chose (who ended up being someone I graduated highschool with) showed me pictures of some of the new ways they can finish the concrete... circle pattern, with polished edges, etc... at no extra charge, as opposed to the traditional "brushing".

The down side is my existing concrete pad is brushed, so it'd be pretty hard to have them do anything different without it looking out of place :O(

More house stuff to do....

Landscaping in... though I now see I will need to fight weeds all the time.

I bought some Round Up to try to kill off what sprouted up, and I'm gonna buy some Preen to try to keep more from growing in. I'll probably end up killing the shrubs. doh.

But, since the landscaping is pretty much done at this point... I can now turn my attentioon to the driveway. Thiis should be the last major project for the year (I hope)...

Going to get quotes on concrete and asphalt and go from there.............

Everythign costs so much damn money. How am I supposed to help out the starving hot lesbian dancers?

Whelp... got quite the weekend ahead of me...

Going to be planting all the landscaping trees and shrubs around the new house...

Over the last few weeks, I've created the beds... cut them in, roto-tilled them 4 times with the help of my brother-in-law... tried to catch as many of the weeds that grew over that time as possible, etc etc.

After work today, I have all the trees and shrubs being dropped off.

5 trees, and 80 shrubs in all.

Should be quite the weekend.

Oh ya, I've never planted a tree or shrub before. LOL!

For all you people out there with Craftsman DGT6000 Tractors with a 27hp Kohler V-Twin... (I know a lot of my readers have them)... I found a way to save you some cash.

Instead of buying your oil filters from Sears for $10.99, go to Advance Auto Parts (brick & mortar or online) and get a Purolator L10241 filter for $3.44. The L10241 cross references to the origial Craftsman/Kohler part number, and it's like 70% cheaper. lol.

I love Sears, but $11 for an oil filter? C'Mon!

My wife and I went last Friday to look at a puppy...

We fell in love.

We get to pick her up from the breeder this Saturday at noon.

We're going to name her Chloe. She's a Weimaraner, and will be 8 weeks old when we bring her home.

We went to Petsmart right after we got back from looking at the puppy and the breeder's facilities and bought all the fun stuff... toys, bowls, food, treats, etc. We even found a cool little Corvette dog toy in the shape of a late 50's Corvette!

I took some pictures, but haven't found a great way of getting them on the blog yet, but hopefully I'll figure this thing out soon enough.
